Hi and welcome to your favorite place on the internet. I’m Laura, the person behind It’s Red and Read, a space for people who structure their year around a TBR pile and treat a reading slump like a personal emergency.
This started as a running list of what I was actually reading, because I got tired of recommendation posts that were clearly written by someone who hadn’t finished the book. What you’ll find here instead: reading lists built around a mood or a moment (a slow Sunday, a beach trip, a specific kind of heartbreak), honest takes on new releases, and the occasional deep dive into a niche — dark academia, sapphic romance, whatever a given month demands.
I read across romance, YA, and literary fiction, and I don’t believe in guilty pleasures. A book either works or it doesn’t. When I recommend something, it’s because I’d hand it to a friend, not because it’s trending.
If you’re the kind of reader who color-codes a shelf or cries on public transport because of a plot twist — you’re in the right place.
